North Shore at Gabriel House

July 2010 We are still rejoicing and praising God for a great week with North Shore Bible Church from Manson, Washington. We were blessed to serve together outside Ensenada at the Gabriel House for disabled children. As much as we planned and prepared for the week, we can see that God directed each situation. We are reminded of the verse in Proverbs 16:9 that says: “The mind of man plans his ways, but the LORD directs his steps.” We appreciated the team’s flexibility and their willingness to be lead by God’s Holy Spirit. We saw many of them stretch beyond what they thought they were capable of doing, knowing that they were relying on the Lord’s strength to get them through.

Santa Rosalía Prison Ministry

Sunday we were in the Prison in Santa Rosalía; and again we enjoyed being there… It’s hard to explain, but when we got there we saw many familiar faces - guards and inmates… And for Lorraine and me, we felt it was a bit like ‘coming home’ - seems strange; but wonderful! This prison really is not like the ‘Mexican prisons’ you have heard bad stories about; rather this prison is ‘a very special place’. There’s even an evangelical church inside with about 30 men attending services every morning and every evening... So we are very glad to be apart of this ministry; to show the love of Jesus to the men; to give them tracts, New Testaments and Bibles; to let them see Christ in us; to allow us to pray with and for the men; and to preach to them as well.

14 People Saved at Loreto Health Fair

This month we were at a church in Loreto where we had not held a Health Fair at for 4 years… (As you may know we hold Health Fairs, every month in a different location — one month we are in Santa Rosalía, another month we are in Mulegé, Loreto, or Constitución, or some other village in between… And we typically like to try to train a church in evangelism for 2-3 years running…, and then go on to another church, to share the blessing...) Well the church we were at this month in Loreto has had some struggles, and they now have a new Pastor, and we’ve become good friends — so we felt it would be good to encourage Pastor Sergio and his wife Lupita, to come to their church again.
