Outreach Team Update, March 2015

Together the team of 11 from Harvest Christian Fellowship in the United States and 6 from Mexico served together side by side to offer medical care, dental care, and reading glasses. After receiving their care the patients were presented with the gospel. Seventy-five people prayed to receive Christ as their Savior. The team is grateful that the Lord used them to call people to Himself.

It was an amazing week. Although there were some hiccups along the way, like one of the rental vans needing to be returned for mechanical issues, it was a week blessed by the Lord in so many ways. The team arrived on time from three different cities. We remained healthy and safe throughout the week. The team bonded really well with our local missionaries.

We were a little short on translators, so each of the three available translators were paired with one of the three doctors. I have been going with and organizing teams to Mexico for 20 years now, but lately I haven’t been involved in the hands on patient care. This week, I was able to translate for a doctor. The best part was hearing people’s stories, giving them medicine to help with their ailments, and then to share the Good News of the Gospel with them. After sharing the Gospel with one lady I asked her if she would like to pray to confess her sins and believe in Jesus as her Savior. She said, “Yes! Why not? No one has ever told me this before.” After praying she said, “I feel different inside. I feel happy.”
