Steve & Jan Crews first brought their own youth group to San Quintin with Mexican Medical in 1995. Steve was the associate pastor at the Bible Church of Dilley, in Oregon, at that time and wanted his youth to experience missions. God had already begun calling Steve back to work with the Mexican people and used that time in Baja to call his wife Jan.
Steve and Jan began serving as missionaries with Mexican Medical and 1997 and served on the field in southern Baja for 5 years. Along with Dr. Alvaro and Soledad Avila and many pastors of the local churches, they began taking medical care and the Gospel to many unreached areas. During their time there, they saw many come to know Christ and many of the local churches grow in their faith.
In 2002 Steve was asked to become President of Mexican Medical, replacing Mel Peabody, who had become ill. Along with his administrative and field responsibilities, Steve and Jan still enjoy leading teams and participating in the medical outreaches whenever possible. They have seen God bring healing and hope to many as they seek to serve their Lord and Savior.
