Serving in Tijuana

Thirty-five years ago, Dr. Tamez was hired to work at the Buen Pastor Hospital in San Quintín. Over the years, he served at a number of Mexican Medical facilities, the last one being at the Buen Samaritano Hospital in Tijuana. Dr. Tamez has a tremendous burden for the people of Tijuana, and he and his wife always knew that they had been called to reach the unreached by serving as missionaries. Four years ago, they began praying about the possibility of transitioning away from his practice at the hospital in order to focus full-time on meeting the physical and spiritual needs of under-served communities.
We at Mexican Medical are excited to support Dr. Tamez and his vision. He will now be available to serve the people of Tijuana, as well as to facilitate more outreaches with all of our missionaries throughout Mexico. We would ask that you prayerfully consider joining us in supporting Dr. Tamez. He will truly need your prayers, especially for his protection as Tijuana becomes an increasingly unsafe mission field. He will also need financial support. Mexican Medical has determined that his support should be $3,000 per month, based on the current economic conditions in Mexico and the US, and on the costs of living so close to the border.
For these many years, Mexican Medical Ministries has experienced the great joy of seeing fruit come from the efforts of Dr. Tamez, especially in the area of surgeries, mobile medical outreaches and health fairs. It has been wonderful to see thousands of people receive medical attention and hundreds come to know Jesus as their personal Savior. Local pastors who participated in the outreaches have reported back to us that, as a result of these events, their churches are growing!
Many of these outreaches have been held in needy communities in Tijuana under the guidance and leadership of Dr. César Tamez. All of you who have seen him in action know that this man loves Jesus, and, more than anything, wants many people to come to know Him.
