Helena First Assembly Report

by Pastor Toby Magill:

The Mexico mission team from Helena First Assembly would like to thank Mexican Medical’s Ministry team at La Esperanza for an awesome time partnering with God in what He is doing in this area of Mexico. We took a team of 15 adults and high school kids for one week and watched God develop selfless hearts in our team members.

We began each day in an awesome time of worship and devotion, which enhanced our spiritual readiness for each day. Construction projects were a great time of relationship building among team members and the local people. It was amazing to see how God was working in the hearts of our team as we served on these different construction projects. The afternoons were filled with great times building relationships and serving in ministry with the local children through Vacation Bible School. We were able to watch our team serve in ministry roles by teaching, instructing and joining in on activity time. This was a great time of relationship building with the kids.

Our evenings were spent in film ministry. What an amazing time! We were able to express the love of Christ by giving the children love and attention in a special way. God also touched the hearts of our team very deeply and meaningfully as we were there with the children. Meal time was also a great time of ministry with Theresa, Buky and Stevito. They ministered to us through their character and devotion to God. They were a great example of genuine love, selflessness and servanthood.

One of our team members returned to La Esperanza for the summer to serve as an intern, and each member of our team has also expressed their desire to return in 2011 to serve once again with Mexican Medical Ministries.
