Missionary Cris McCoy

The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is upon me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the broken-hearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners.

Isaiah 61:1

Jesus said that we get to do these things too! This year I had the privilege of joining a team for a week of ministry in Tijuana. Each morning we split into small teams and went out into the streets to minister the love of Christ to those we encountered. We also visited 25 churches during the week to invest through teaching, ministry, encouraging words, and impartation. We witnessed so many healings that it left all of us basking in the wonder of Godโ€™s goodness! We also saw hearts uplifted through encouraging words, and the believers of each church were activated to carry on the ministry of Jesus.

Sometimes a missionary must come off the field for a season to reconnect with friends, family, and partners of the ministry and to begin to build and nurture new communities of connection. I sense the Lord birthing something new regarding future ministry, and, in order to steward this well, I am investing in some personal growth. I have been taking classes with some amazing teachers (mostly online) giving me the opportunity to be part of some new communities and learning how to create and build and nurture healthy relationships inside of community.

Here is some of what has been burning in my heart for future ministry:

  • to nurture healthy relationship-building inside of community
  • to partner with Jesus in prayer for healings, miracles, and freedom to come to those in bondage
  • to become my authentic self and coach others along this path for the purpose of the joy and rest that comes with understanding our identity in Christ

Each of us carries something unique that the world needs, so letโ€™s give it away without borders and give Jesus all he paid for!
