Loreto Newsletter – December 2019

Christmas Letter 2019

We’re looking forward to a Great New Year filled with activities to encourage other Christians, and with activities to bring the love of Jesus and the message of salvation to the many in our area who are seeking to know our ‘blessed Lord Jesus’ – once a child, and now the King… We trust you have this same outlook for your life where you live—that’s our prayer for you… Please keep praying for us in 2020, and the Lord will continue to also do great things here in our area as a result. Thank you again for your faithfulness.

October 2019 Newsletter

Within days of our return to Loreto, we were busy organizing and preparing for the coming outreaches.  This weekend was just one more example of how much we have to be thankful for and how much praise is owed to our wonderful Savior and Lord.  Over 80 people prayed to receive Jesus Christ as their Savior.  Great News!  Praise the Lord!  Click on the link above to see photos and read the rest of the story.

May Newsletter

May was another busy month for us here in Loreto, but very exciting as we have had Adriana Payton-Kruska and Gill Kruska with us providing teaching in four churches on ‘How to manage or avoid Diabetes’…  Also our Pastor’s Fellowship has gone over another hurdle here in Loreto during this past month, and so we have formed a new group called ‘Agape’ – hopefully all of the Pastors will join with us now…

In addition our English Church attendance has dwindled as many people leave Loreto for the summer, but we will resume in the fall as people return…

Please pray for our next outreach in the Santa Rosalía Prison as we are encountering a couple of frustrations that we are trying to work out… But as in the past, the Lord brings everything together for His glory – so we are anticipating another wonderful time in the prison this month…

Attached is our Report with photos and details…  Thank you again for your prayers and support!

La Paz Prison Report March 2019

La Paz Prison Team Full Report

In one sense, one could say that this was the best team ever this time in this prison -because the inmates that have come to know Christ in the prison have matured in Christ to whereas they are now reaching out to their fellow inmates.  It really was exciting to see one inmate sharing Christ with another inmate, and then to put his arms around this other inmate, and pray for him.    Thank you again for all of your prayers and financial support that really help to make these outreaches such a success. No other group is now allowed to go into these prisons to do what we do-and people’s lives are being changed as a result. They all appreciate the love and attention we give them, as we share the love of Jesus with them-and many are receiving the message of salvation.

Loreto Report November 2018

November 2018

Over the three days we were in the La Paz prison. During this event, there were 139 people who saw our doctors,dentists,and/or received reading or distance glasses. All of these people receiving more than one service – in fact there were a total of 336 services given.  Thank you so much for your prayers and financial support that help to make these outreaches such a success. No other group is now allowed to go into these prisons to do what we do – and this time over 40 people prayed to receive Christ into their lives!  And almost all of the others we saw asked questions and were prayed for. How wonderful is all this?! So your partnership with us in this worthwhile ministry is greatly appreciated!

June 2018 Report

Following our morning devotions at the dental clinic at the Santa Rosalia prison, the director said how glad he was that the six men whom he is responsible to in the State Government offices were at the prison during the dental clinic so that they could see first hand how we go about changing lives in prison. Loreto Report – March 2018

Good evening…

It has been another great month here in Loreto, so we want to quickly bring you up to date and mention a couple of prayer requests.

 Attached is our Monthly Report

These are our immediate Prayer Requests

Easter Sunday we will  again be putting on our Easter Sunrise Service…  I has been cold in the mornings here in Loreto, and we hope that will not keep people away.  Also this Saturday night we change to daylight savings time here in Mexico, so it is possible that some people planning to attend, might sleep in and miss coming…  So please pray that many will attend, despite these possible eventualities…  Pray too that our sound equipment will work well…, and that everyone’s hearts will be open to hearing the Gospel.…

In April it is our plan to once again be taking our Health Fairs to the Prison in La Paz. We have heard this past week that there have been additional problems in that prison, and so the Mexican Army has taken over the management and operations of this prison. Pray that the doors will be open for us to hold our Health Fairs there at the end of this month, and that all the volunteers what we will need will be coming, etc., etc.

We trust you will have a Wonderful Easter Weekend…, and thank you again for your prayers and partnering with us in so many ways…  God bless you!

 Warmly,

Don & Lorraine

Loreto Weekend Report – November 9-13, 2017

REPORT FOR WEEKENDER TEAM — November 9-13, 2017

As you may have likely heard, we have made a change with regards to our Health Fairs: we will now be focusing only on the Prisons in Santa Rosalia (where we’ve held our outreaches once or twice each year for the past eight years), and in La Paz (where we began ministries last March). This month we were glad to be back in La Paz, and glad to have many people from La Paz who were on our Team six months ago, on our Team again this November.

You will remember us mentioning before how difficult it’d been for years for pastors to have access into the prison to minister to the inmates, yet how wonderful it’d been that the Prison had asked us to come with our Health Fairs. So we had some pastors with us last time, not only to help us with our Health Fairs, but also hoping that as a result the doors would begin to open for them…

Well we were so glad to discover upon arriving this time that Pedro and Rosita, (pastors in La Paz), who were two of those who were with us last time, (and they were with us again this time) – that they had been having Bible Studies every Saturday in the La Paz Prison since our Outreach last Spring – Pedro leading one Bible Study for the men, while Rosita led another Bible Study for the women. We were overjoyed to learn that the doors we were praying about were opening…

We were then very pleased to be introduced to several of the inmates who had made decisions for Christ last Spring when we were there, (who had been attending these Bible Studies), and to learn that they were continuing to grow in their faith and to be strong in the Lord.  How exciting!

As we began each day Don gave everyone on our Team encouragement and instructions from the Word and then we prayed together. The first day it was about exemplifying our transformed lives. On the second day Don encouraged everyone to pray for the inmates, but before doing so, to ask the inmate what they’d like us to pray about for them. This approach opened the hearts of many of the inmates, and discussions followed…, and then many of the inmates (men and women) were being led to Christ. It was amazing; and we could not keep track of the numbers…            …

Dr. Ricardo’s been helping us in our Health Fairs for just over a year, and just a short time ago he was offered a job in this Prison. Now as a result the Health Fairs this weekend the inmates know that their doctor is a Christian and they can go to him almost anytime…

The Lord is definitely doing a work here: the doors are opening, the inmates are responding, follow-up is happening, and your prayers are being answered… Thank you so much again for helping to make all of this happen.
